Writing Weekend Q & A

What is Formation?

A  formation weekend is the next step in your Retrouvaille journey after  completing an initial weekend and post sessions.

The weekend is led by a  Retrouvaille couple and a priest or minister. Couples dig deeper in the  healing process and learn additional tools to maintain trust, respect  and mutual growth in their marriage. Quite often, participants gain a  profound understanding of themselves and their spouse.

The primary goals of Formation are:

  1. Providing an environment of spiritual growth
  2. Teaching writing skills and developing the ability of couples and priests to write and present their story
  3. Affirming and building confidence in the priests and couples
  4. Helping couples and priests to continue incorporating the values of Retrouvaille in their lives
  5. Teaching the technique of dialogue

What is Discipleship?

Discipleship  is a new program that was created by two faithful and humble  Retrouvaille couples in 2017. This is an excellent program for seasoned  Retrouvaille couples who want to share their talents within our  communities.

The weekend will consist of:

  1. Tapping into our spiritual gifts
  2. Exploring  how our personalities, family of origin, masks, and relationship styles  play a role in how we relate to others and deal with conflict
  3. Enhancing self growth
  4. Examining challenges of couple-shared leadership in ministry
  5. Learning effective conflict management approaches

Much  like an initial weekend, we do not share all of the details of this  weekend. We wish for participants to experience their own journey in the  Discipleship program. A priest and two to four couples present the  program. After completing the Chicago area Discipleship program,  participants will be encouraged to present the program, alongside  qualified couples, within their communities. After completing these  steps, couples will be eligible to be qualified Discipleship program  presenters.

What are Advanced Writing Session(s)?

These  sessions are similar to a writing-to-heal day. However, this version  will last an entire weekend. The sessions  allow couples and priests to  write introductions, portions of post talks, and/or stage talks while  having a mentor present.

The ultimate goals of these sessions are:

  1. Completing a draft of a talk or presentation
  2. Experiencing the power of your unique story
  3. Expounding on continued personal and couple healing through a deeper understanding of the Retrouvaille concepts
  4. Developing and enhancing spiritual, individual, and couple growth

Spending this uninterrupted and guided time writing and being mentored will help these goals to be successfully achieved.

Will there be a donation request  during or after the triple-event weekend?

No

Prayer for SE MN Retrouvaille

Heavenly Father, Author of marriage, through Your divine providence You have brought us together to join in Your mission to heal hurting marriages and families. Shower us with the graces we need to serve You together as a community of disciples. Fill us with Your divine mercy and love so we can pour it out on all those You put on Your path. We trust that You will provide the financial and manual resources needed to accomplish this mission. Let us always keep You the center of this awesome, healing ministry.

Holy family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, patron saint of Retrouvaille, pray for us.

Quote of the month
