About Us

Our History

Retrouvaille is derived from the french word "rediscovery." Since its inception in 1977, in the province of Quebec, Canada, there are a multitude of marriages strengthened by the Godly content of the weekend program and post-weekend programs. Our Christian ministry (Catholic in origin) is volunteer based.

Southeast Retrouvaille (Rochester, Winona, and surrounding areas) is a small fraction of our worldwide Retrouvaille ministry. We are blessed to have thriving communities in Canada, Central & South America, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Western Pacific.

Our Mission

"A community of disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit  to help heal hurting marriages"

Our Program

The Retrouvaille weekend will provide a very unique experience individually and as a couple. It is not to be confused with a conference, retreat, counseling session, or seminar.

Our Retrouvaille ministry will help restore healthy communication, reestablish forgiveness, and trust while acquiring invaluable tools to strengthen your marriage. Your marital problems will not be shared publicly. The weekend presenters consist of three couples and a priest. If attending a CMD (Christian Multi-Denominational) weekend, a minister will be present. Each have experienced pain, conflict, disillusionment in their lives and marriages, thus you are not alone in your struggle.

Each couple* is asked to pay a registration fee to confirm your attendance (includes meals and lodging). On the weekend, you will be asked to make a one-time additional donation that covers all of the expenses incurred.

*If you are experiencing financial hardship, you will not be turned away from the opportunity to help heal your marriage.

The next phase after completing the Retrouvaille weekend is attending post sessions for 6 consecutive Saturdays.  The weekend is not deemed a "miracle cure". Therefore, these sessions are a critical component to remaining on the path of healing your marriage. Envision the commitment like building a house. The solid foundation of concrete was established during the initial weekend; and the post sessions are the elements needed to continue building a sound structure to minimize exposure to destruction. Protect your marriage and attend each session. If you must miss a session, please note that any session can be made up at another location (see website for schedule) or via online by request.

C.O.R.E. is an acronym for Continuing Our Retrouvaille Experience. We encourage couples to remain engaged monthly with the community of couples that have attended the Retrouvaille program. The primary goal is to support one another in a casual, positive, and interactive environment. C.O.R.E. reinforces existing and additional Retrouvaille tools intended to build stronger marriages and communities.
